Share Class Flow

Monitor subscriptions, redemptions, dividends, and swing pricing per share class.

Share Class Flow monitors the transactional activity of each share class, subscriptions, redemptions, dividends, and swing pricing, and flags flow-related anomalies that can distort valuation. It answers: are this share class's flows, dividends, and swing pricing consistent with expectations?

How it works

It works mainly from fund-administrator data (NAV, subscription and redemption series, dividend series, swing ratios) to independently estimate what each flow-related factor should be and compare it against what was reported, for example checking that dividends were correctly calculated and distributed and that swing pricing activated appropriately (without recomputing the swing factors). It also derives net and gross subscription and redemption ratios and runs time-series analysis to spot flows that look abnormal versus past activity, which helps explain a NAV anomaly.

What you get

  • Assets under management and net-flow trends over time, at both sub-fund and share-class level.
  • Subscription and redemption amounts and ratios (gross and net, including weekly), plus dividend yield and amount and the swing ratio.
  • Checks that dividends are correctly calculated and distributed, and that swing pricing activated appropriately.
  • Events: Dividend Payment, Subscription, Redemption, Swing Price, and Small AUM.

How to use it in Spark

The flow metrics and events arrive as data in your workspace. Chart flows and AUM on a canvas, and let a workflow or the Agent react when an event such as a large redemption or a swing-price activation fires.
